Maple & Co Games Table or Desk c.1885
To own this is to own a piece from the halcyon days of Late Victorian furniture making. The table is made of solid oak and walnut with some veneer work and is in totally original condition. The graceful solid oak legs lead to quality brass and ceramic wheels. The two opposing drawers have walnut interiors, brass handles and both are stamped Maple & Co. The stamped leather top is tooled and has a lovely patina.
“One of the most important names in Edwardian furniture was Maple & Co. Maples was based in Tottenham Court Road, London and was the largest furniture store in the world. It made its own furniture for sale at home and abroad, and drew its own customers from both the middle and upper classes and even royalty – Tsar Nicholas of Russia furnished his Winter Palace with furniture from its workshops. Arts and Crafts Oak Sideboard 1917
This classic Arts and Crafts oak sideboard was manufactured by leading Sydney retailer, Mark Foy's. The famous Piazza building was opened in 1908 and by 1917, the furniture was sold from a building on the eastern side of Liverpool Street. This solid oak piece has been restored and retains its original locks, key, handles and large bevelled mirror. This imposing piece would be equally at home in a heritage or modern house.

Victorian Pine Sideboard c.1880
This is an exceptional example of a late Victorian sideboard made of solid Victorian pine that was known as “deal”. The previous owners have nurtured and cared for this piece, so its original French polished surface, handles and its overall condition are excellent. This authentic dark stained pine sideboard, with its beautifully carved panels and back, is of a very desirable size and is not too ornate.
