This very desirable oak hallstand dates from the classic Late Victorian or early Edwardian era. It is in remarkable original condition, constructed of high quality oak, and has simple brass hooks, bevelled mirror and a gallery of tiles, possibly Minton. There is an unusual lift top compartment ideal for keys or coins, three generous umbrella or stick sections and an original drip tray. This hallstand is one of the better pieces that we have acquired.

This goes to prove that the most mundanely useful piece of furniture can prove to be a pure delight. Beautifully aged mahogany combines with a shaped copper panel embossed with the Scottish thistle and a lower panel with raised bosses. This outstanding piece was made by Shapland and Petter, a leading maker of furniture in the Arts and Crafts style.

This large Federation maple hallstand has a solid provenance dating back to 1910 in Queensland and was acquired from a descendant of the original owner. The lovely piece has benefitted from restoration of the surface and resilvering of the original bevelled mirror. The eight handmade hooks are original and the lift top compartment has a “European Labour Only” stamp inside. The hallstand is very stable and will be suited to a large hallway, family room or entrance hall.

Originating from Hahndorf in South Australia, this Victorian kauri pine meat safe cabinet has one deep drawer, two fixed shelves behind the two doors and original pressed wire on each side. The piece is solidly constructed and has a shaped galley top. The finish is natural and has been bees waxed. This item is a high quality, extremely clean piece of furniture that will have many applications in any room in the house.
