Late Victorian Pine Parlour Mirror c.1880
This Late Victorian pine parlour mirror boasts wide, shaped bevelling as is thought to be of French origin via the Middle East. The thick original glass is in good condition and was resilvered in the 1980’s. The frame has been restored with matt black and gold paint.

PEWS and SETTLES

Oak Church Pews (2) c.1910
These fabulous turn of the century pieces of church furniture are real treasures. Original church pews only become available when a church is sold and dismantled as was the case four years ago when this outstanding oak pew was salvaged from a church in the Southern Highlands. Pews of this quality are rarely seen, especially ones constructed of beautiful English oak. They are very sturdy and have decorative shamrocks carved at each end in the Gothic manner which distinguish them from the more commonly available pews. Their size make them suitable for most positions in and out of the home.

Oak Church Petitions (2) c.1910
These two beautiful oak church petitions were acquired from an auction of the contents of a church in the Southern Highlands. They constructed of solid slabs of strong oak which has been masterfully carved in the gothic manner. They compliment the two pews above and will have a variety of uses in the home, such as in a hallway, library or as room dividers.

This Art Nouveau sideboard is another quality oak piece by the English furniture manufacturer, Harris Lebus. Victorian Kauri Sideboard or Washstand c.1885
This gorgeous sideboard or washstand is constructed with sold kauri and incorporates classic Victorian elements such as intricate piercing, repetitive spindles, three beveled mirrors and highly decorative brass handles. The piece was made in Melbourne by Danish furniture manufacturer, George Christian Clauscen and bears the maker’s stamp, Clauscen & Co 194-196 Bourke Street, Melbourne. It is in good original condition and has had minimal restoration. The pink marble is cracked but this has been repaired and is sound. The piece would be an elegant addition to any bathroom, dining room or lounge room.

Arts and Crafts Oak Sideboard 1917
This classic Arts and Crafts oak sideboard was manufactured by leading Sydney retailer, Mark Foy's. The famous Piazza building was opened in 1908 and by 1917, the furniture was sold from a building on the eastern side of Liverpool Street. This solid oak piece has been restored and retains its original locks, key, handles and large bevelled mirror. This imposing piece would be equally at home in a heritage or modern house.

Victorian Cedar Sideboard c.1860-1890
This unusual cedar sideboard was probably made in Australia during the mid 19th century.The piece has been beautifully made using solid cedar and side cedar panelling, together with a peaked back highlighted by a panel of fiddleback cedar. The strong influence of Beidemeier design is evident in its pyramidal shaped back and square section tapering legs. The Arts and Crafts handles are a later addition, probably around 1900 and some replacement shelves have been recently added. This is a truely unique piece of furniture.

This is an exceptional example of a late Victorian sideboard made of solid Victorian pine that was known as “deal”. The previous owners have nurtured and cared for this piece, so its original French polished surface, handles and its overall condition are excellent. Edwardian Walnut Chiffonier or Sideboard c.1900
This elegant Edwardian walnut chiffonier has fantastic compact proportions and is perfect for a smaller room or that difficult space. It is a very simple design that is not overbearing. Well made as most walnut pieces from this era were, it has beautiful wooden spindles, indented lines and original brass handles as its main decorative features. There is a removable shelf behind each door and a lead lined bottle drawer on the right side. Edwardian Walnut Mirrored Sideboard c.1900
This regal sideboard is thought to be by Liberty & Co of London. Beautifully grained and carved walnut has been used to create a sideboard of extremely high quality. The large bevelled mirror is raised on fluted palisters and the original handles with the marking L&C Rd 242543 are stunning. The two doors are ornately carved aith two shelves behind the left door and a walnut bottle "lazy susan" and one shelf behind the right door.
